Duration: Ketchikan - Approx May 15th through Sept 10th
Naknek - Approx April 15th through July 31st
Hours: 12 - 15hrs per day, 7 days per week. On duty while "A" shift is processing.

The Health and Safety Specialist must have the following training and skills and perform the following job functions
OSHA 10 Hour Course
Safety program training track - Think HR (or other Safety Training track to be determined)
Detail oriented job habits
Exceptional verbal and written communication
Able to interpret complex regulations and apply to real world situations.
Able to rally workers and management around the common cause and goal of Safety.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations relevant to the plant and processes
Working knowledge of general safety best practices and procedures
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook computer applications
Ensure SHP Compliance
Enforce implementation of all corporate Safety program aspects
Conduct daily “Plant Safety Audits”
Conduct Hazard Analysis and Identification
Ensure Fit Tests and Medical Evals are completed for all users of Respirators
Ensure availability and adequate supply of PPE
Ensure that Emergency Action Plan (EAP) is up to date and accurate
Maintain SDS sheets and the ERTK Center
Conduct training when necessary
Communicate with employees and supervisors regarding any safety violations
Update/Maintain OSHA 300 log
Create OSHA 300A reports for each injury
Compile and maintain the Injury List for the plant location
Maintain all training logs
Maintain record of Daily Plant Audits
Maintain Job Hazard Analysis records
Maintain Confined Space inventory
Maintain record of respirator fit tests and medical evaluations
Document completion of evacuation drill requirement
Accident & Near Miss Investigation
Collect Daily Near-Miss reports and update Near-Miss Log
Conduct Incident and Accident investigations and complete Investigation Reports for each incident/accident - including root cause analysis.
Report all critical Safety Hazards to Plant Manager and Corporate Health and Safety Manager/Director immediately.
Escort any OSHA inspectors during plant visits
Manage Safety incentive Program
